snow ball fight

This was so cute... totally the girls idea! And yes, Kyla is wearing her undies and Maelie is wearing a skirt, haha!

Jaxon "walking"

Jaxon took his first step today! He was standing by himself, he has been doing this for the past few days, but today he was standing by himself for a while and then he took a step!! He's only 8 1/2 months old, the crazy kid! So we put him up to his push toy and he figured it out and was loving the independence!!

a snowy tail, I mean tale

Here's a funny story, well kinda sad, too. It snowed yesterday and it actually was cold enough to stick this time. When we got home from a friend's house yesterday afternoon, I got all the kids inside and took Jaxon's warm suit off so he could actually move and then headed to the bathroom. As I was washing my hands, I hear Jaxon screaming! I ran out to see who was sitting on him and found the back door open and the girls outside playing in the snow. Jaxon had also made it out there because of course he will if the door is left open, that kid is FAST and into everything he can get to! He was sitting there in his t-shirt (and pants and socks) in the snow with a look like "what is this stuff? It's freezing and I thought it looked like fun but no, it's not!" I had a mixture of laughing and feeling bad for him. I was tempted to grab the camera first but decided to rescue my freezing son instead! And did he learn from his lesson? nope. He has been racing for the door every time it opens!

little of this...

This morning we had stake conference in Altoona, about an hour drive - the longest drive I've ever had to go to church! It was snowing!!! We couldn't help but think as we were driving that we were one week away from the time of year we totaled the truck on the ice. Jonas was very cautious as he drove and we made it safely there and back. Honestly, I think that Pocatello, Idaho is cursed - no offense for those of you who live there, but we have the worst luck in that area!

Kyla wearing Princess undies - go potty girl!..... Jaxon made it up a stair!!

the girls

Kyla will be 3 in a few months - I can hardly believe it! A while ago, I posted that I was starting her potty training and she was doing great! Well, it only lasted a couple days and she wanted nothing to do with it for a while. Well, now she is telling us when she wants to go potty! It is great! She has an ear infection but loves her pink medicine! Also, she is very loud at home and very quiet around other people. But yesterday her nursery teacher told me she was so talkative, telling her all about animals and dinosaurs. She is such a sweet girl and we love her, she likes brushing her teeth.
Maelie, Maelie, Maelie - our awesome 4 year old!!

She got this penguin from her friend Riley in Rexburg when she was 2. Well, she found it the other day and she and that penguin are inseperable. She tells us that the big penguin is daddy and the little penguin is Maelie and they are going to be together forever. She has since take off the little penguin tag and put it with the other 2 saying that one is Jaxon and he'll be with us too.
Never a dull moment!!

8 months old!!

Whether I want him to or not, Jaxon is getting closer and closer to the 1 year mark - so not ready for this little sweetie to be growing up! I can tell by the look in his eyes that he is thinking about walking. He will stand there by himself for a second with his arms out and this determined look on his face!!

He loves all his food except for peas :)

He is such a little monkey! He has been climbing through the chairs and anywhere he can get to - when I open the fridge he is over there in a flash - his favorite place to check out!

after bath time!

Saturday night he had his first bath without the little baby sling and he was SO excited - all over the place and having such a blast!

riding his cute little car!

another tag

I think tags are so fun, I got tagged again, this time by Becka - she is such an awesome girl and actually the only blogger friend I have in my new home town!

Go to the 4th folder in your picture file and blog about the 4th picture. Then tag 4 people:
This is Kyla at 3 weeks old. We were living in Rexburg, Idaho when she was born and Jonas was finishing up his last semester at BYU-I, we really loved that place! And we really love our little Kyla, I'm pretty sure she has an ear infection and I have been trying to get a hold of the doctor all morning!!!
I tag - Kristi, Kristen, Leslie, and Emily

Quirky tag

I have been tagged by Kristin and Taani... both of theirs were so fun to read but I'm not sure I can think of 6 quirks I have but I will give it a shot and maybe get some help from Jonas!

Tag Rules: Mention the rules on your blog. Tell about six quirks of yours. Tag six fellow bloggers to do the same.

1. When I change the volume on anything, like the cd player, ipod, or the tv, it always has to be on an even number. I can't go up or down one, it always has to be 2. For example our tv volume is always on 8, 10, or 12, never any odd numbers!

2. AZ has a great freeway system and I miss doing this because they don't even have double lane on and off ramps on the freeways here in PA. But in AZ, when I would get on the on ramp for the freeway and there were no cars by me, I always had to straddle the lane lines and drive on both lanes, it is so fun! :)

3. I HAVE to check my email every morning before I do ANYTHING else, it is really weird and annoying, but I can't focus on anything until I have dealt with my inbox. Before I go to bed each night, my inbox has to be all clean, meaning I have to deal with everything in there and delete or put things into folders. I have to write everyone back and take care of bills and all that and make sure it is clean for tomorrow - weird I know!

4. I HATE clutter and anything extra in my house! Believe me my house gets really messy with 3 little kids and me just being lazy, but what I mean is, I don't like a lot of nick nacks and I don't like a lot of stuff on my walls. If something is worn out and I buy something to replace it, I have to get rid of the other one right away!!

5. I have the hardest time spending money on clothes, shoes, jewelry, makeup, and hair stuff! I know that is totally weird to be that way AND be a girl. But I would rather spend money on traveling, my kids toys and clothes, going out to eat, dates with Jonas, and toys for Jonas and I!

6. The ENTIRE week before I have to do anything like be in charge of something, or teach a lesson, give a talk, or anything like that, I am a basket case and have the hardest time just making it thru each day! And then when I am done with that thing, I am a complete different person! I feel like it is christmas and am really happy! I don't know if that is a quirk or just a weakness! haha!

I guess I am a little quirkier than I thought, I did this without any help from Jonas but I think I will still ask him to see what he says!

6 quikier people than I am (you are tagged) - Janay, Candice, Annie, Kelly, Leah, Laurice

turkey month

My kids live by the holidays and I admit that I do, too. They were kinda sad yesterday when I told them that halloween was over! I was trying to convince them how fun thanksgiving was and they weren't buying it, so we made this and they had more fun doing it that I thought they would. If you can't tell - it's a turkey and on the feathers are all the things we're thankful for. Happy turkey month!

maelie-isms

Maelie has a very long name - it has progressed from Maelie Lin Stanford to Maelie Lin Stanford Princess - and now when you ask her for her full name she says, "Maelie Lin Stanford Sleeping Beauty Princess Cheer"

The other day we were talking to Maelie about not opening the front door, that she needed to tell Mom or Dad before she opened it. She didn't understand so we were telling her that maybe there might be a bad guy out there. She said, "I got a good idea for bad guys - help them be nice!" What a great idea Maelie! =)
This morning the sleeve on Maelie's dress ripped and she came to me and said, "Grandma better come back to our house and fix my dress!" haha! I guess I better prove to her that I can sew her dress up all by myself. :)

look what I made today!

Today was the RS Super Saturday and I actually finished all my projects there, yay! I made one more but can't show it because it's a christmas gift. The muffin tin is an advent calender and the glass block still needs a ribbon tied around it. Fun stuff!

trick or treat

Jaxon trick or treating

Kyla loving the candy!

Maelie and Abby

I couldn't have asked for better trick or treating weather. It snowed 2 days before so I was a little worried but it was nice and warm on halloween! There was a big group from our ward trick or treating and here is Maelie and Kyla (in the background) with Abby and Juila.

Right before we left - trick or teating is only from 6-8 pm here so we left a bowl of candy on our door step. Maelie is a bride, Kyla is a piggie, and Jaxon is a leopard.

Jaxon zonked at the end!

Maelie enjoying her candy!

Jaxon crawling

I figured I better get a video of this before he starts walking!!!

Maelie's talk

"I am a child of God, Jesus created our beautiful world for all of God's children." (her primary part) Jesus serves eveyone. So we can serve others, too. This man was hurt and this man served and helped him. Missionaries serve lots of people. My daddy serves me when he gives me a blessing. I can serve by being nice and sharing. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

name that 7 month old

***hahahahha! Hey guys, I realize this is easy, I didn't REALLY mean for it to be a test! I just thought it was fun to see them all at 7 months. There are several pix tho that I found of Kyla at 7 months old that look JUST like Jaxon!
