Kyla's 4th Birthday

Tuesday and Thursday mornings are kinda crazy around our house and Kyla's birthday was on a Thursday. First she got to open her presents from us... 2 Land Before Time movies and a My Little Pony bumble gum house! Then we had colorful birthday pancakes for breakfast with cool whip and strawberries. Then we had to rush and get everyone out the door by 7:40. I take Kyla to preschool, Jonas to work, and then I barely get back to Maelie's school in time. Someday we will have 2 cars... :) Kyla has been doing really good with preschool lately, it was a rough start, but now she loves to go and she got to bring cupcakes to share with her class on her birthday.

For dinner, we went to Chuck E. Cheese's. We went once in PA and Kyla wanted to go again so bad so we told her we could go for her next birthday and of course she didn't forget. All 3 of the kids were feeling sick last night with a cold. I tried to convince Kyla that we could go another day when she was feeling better but she wouldn't have it. So in all the pix the kids look a little out of it, but they did have fun! - The pic of Jaxon on the riding clock thing cracks me up!! And I love Jaxon's idea of playing skee ball!
I think she had a happy birthday depsite being sick. We love our 4 year old!
On a side note... Maelie has had a tummy ache for a couple months now and we have gone to drs trying to figure it out. I took her to an allergist on Monday and she tested positive for some foods, so we are trying to narrow it down and figure out if any of them are causing the tummy aches. For 2 weeks, she is going without wheat, eggs, chocolate, and peanuts. We have been doing it since Monday and so far she still has a tummy ache. I felt bad for her especially on Kyla's birthday when she couldn't have any pancakes at breakfast, but she was so happy that she could have strawberries with coolwhip! And then I fed her a hot dog (she doesn't like the bun anyway) before we went to Chuck E. Cheese's and had pizza since she can't have pizza. I have been amazed at how postive she has been. I send her a lunch full of meat, fruits, veggies, and cheese and a snack since she can't have crackers or cookies with the rest of her class. But she hasn't complained at all! She usually has a PBJ for lunch so I was worried but she has been so positive! Next week, we are all going on the diet, for dinner anyway... I hope we figure this out!

Kyla's Birthday Party

Kyla and Maelie before church today - Kyla is wearing her new birthday dress from Grandma & Grandpa, carrying her dinosaur from Brooke and fam, and wearing her kitty in her hair from Anna and Emma. My Mom made those crayon bags for Christmas!

Yesterday we had a family birthday party for Kyla - she wanted a dinosaur party, no surprse there! Both Maelie and Kyla really had fun helping me make the cake. It was so windy that we weren't able to light the candles, but Kyla still pretended to blow!

Pinata fun! Kyla's favorite dinosaur is a T-Rex and she wanted everything to be a red T-Rex, and what do ya know, the only dinosaur pinata at Party City was a red T-Rex! We went through all the kids - Kyla, Zac, Jaxon, Emma, Karsyn, Anna, Kailin, Maelie, Brooke, and Jakob, and then Kyla again. It was hard to break. It finall started breaking when I helped Kyla and then some more help from Jakob... and all the kids had fun getting candy. For her party Kyla wanted cake and candy, that's what she said when I would ask her what she wanted to do. So there's the candy!

And she loved all her presents. I think kids birthdays are more fun than your own. It's fun to see how excited they are! Thank you so much for coming and for the presents all! And then the kids had fun playing!

Star * 100 * Ballerinas

Kyla is the Star Student this week at Preschool. She had fun making her poster which she shared with her class yesterday. Today she brought in her favorite book and tomorrow she is so excited to bring her T-Rex in and show her class. Since I was taking pix of Kyla with her poster, Maelie wanted a pic of her with her homework, her 100 chart. Tomorrow is her 100th day of school with lots of fun activities going on. I get to go in and volunteer in her class, it's been a while, so I am excited. Yesterday the girls started a Fairy Princess Ballerinas class through the city that goes for 6 weeks. They really enjoyed it!

the good life

Maelie set the table and gave Jaxon the giant fork!!

Grandma Rogers made the kids new PJ's, adorable eh? And in case you're wondering because we aren't football fans, those balloons were free at Fry's last night :)

Jaxon's pj's are my fave, I think he looks so cute in these bright orange ones! He was sitting there, looking at all the cars with a big smile on his face :)

This is Maelie and her prince Ty. And yes, that's really what she calls him. They were playing Sleeping Beauty. :)

Maelie can read so well! I thought this was cute, Maelie reading to Kyla.
