Our TERIFFIC 2 year old!

Kyla is 2!!! I can hardly beleive it! She had a fun birthday yesterday beginning with opening this present! It's a sit n' spin that I think we are going to return...
This was last night at Applebee's after they sang to her and gave her an icecream with oreo in it! She was pretty excited.
We went to Golfland and here she is playing the wack a mouse game.

Goofy golfing! The girls had a blast!

Farewell to our beloved prophet

I am so happy for President Hinckley that he gets to be with his wife again, I just know that they are so happy right now. I am also so glad that we are part of such a great church that when something like this happens, we have no need to worry, because everything in the church happens in such great order. I know that the new prophet will be in place because he is supposed to be and that all things will work out. When reading about Pres. Hinckley I noticed that he was first called into the presidency as a 3rd counselor to President Kimball in 1981. I was born in 1981 so while he hasn't been the president my whole life, he has been the president for the part of my life I remember most and has been in the first presidency for my lifetime. He is such an amazing man and I have learned so much from him about optimism and being kind to all people. I love you President Hinckley and appreciate all you have done for me, for my family, for the church, and for the world. You will be missed but we are so glad you are with your wife in heaven now.

BIG girl

This week we got rid of the binki and last night we switched Kyla's crib to a BIG girl bed! Yeah Kyla! She kept getting out of bed last night but once she was asleep she made it thru the night! And the getting rid of binki has been a lot easier than I had thought. We'll see how naptime today goes... that should be interesting!

Pretty soon, we'll have to get Maelie an even bigger girl bed so that Jaxon can have the crib. We have made so many changes with the jump from 2 kids to 3!

And here's a pic of Maelie being cute! =) She is ALL GIRL! Every morning she strips off her pjs and puts on a dress and she wears it all day long!

a new calling

I have just been released as the enrichment leader! My new calling is something I have never heard of before... it's the RS mid-month activities chairperson. EH?!?! I guess it is really just those little groups in RS such as book club, lunch bunch, playgroup, etc. Anyway, let me know if you think of any groups that have been really good in your ward!

sun--BEAM!

M-a-e-l-i-e

I finally taught Maelie how to write her name. It only took about 5 minutes, now if I can just remember to work on it with her a little everyday! Those e's were definitely the hardest for her - and she's got 2 of 'em!

family car

Well, we finally made the switch! We sold our little Mitsubishi Lancer this week ....
and bought a family car, a Dodge Durango! (Ours is silver) K, Jaxon, we're all ready for you! =)

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam!

Maelie is a sunbeam! I was actually more nervous taking her in there than she was! She did great and had a really good time and is so happy to be a sunbeam! She didn't even seem to care that Kyla got to go to nursery and she didnt, I was really surprised! There are only 4 sunbeams and there were actually only 2 there yesterday but the other one is her good friend Ty and she already knows one of her teachers so she did great! I can't believe my little girl is in primary! Sorry, I forgot to take a pic!

cousins at the airport

On Thursday we were able to meet Jonas' sister's family at the airport on their layover from Boise to San Antonio. We hadn't seen them for a year and a half so it was great to see them even if the time was short! I wish I had taken a group pic! Oh well, here are some cute ones...

Mark and Jeremy

Maelie and Keatin - these 2 used to play together when they were babies in Rexburg! They are 3 months apart!

You can tell Kyla to do the "anything" dance and she will dance like this, it's so cute!... and kinda funny how Maelie pushes her out of the way!

our 2nd christmas in AZ

So when we got home from the airport early Sunday morning, the girls got to see what Santa brought them at our house - a kitchen, table and chairs, a little pet's treehouse, and a teeball set. The girls were so excited, we stayed up until 2 am playing.

cute hair Maelie - showing off her little pet

Kyla and the littlest pet shop tree house

On Sunday, we had 2 baby blessings in the fam - my brothers Travis' little girl Brielle and my brother Jarod's little girl Emma, they were both blessed in my parent's ward. We spent the day with the fam and we got to open our presents from the fam - here is Kyla and her monkey

Grandma Rogers made all the girl grandkids cute little monkeys and Grandpa Rogers made them all little wooden cradles - so cute!

white christmas

We had a fun trip to Cardston for christmas! And yes it was white!!! There wasn't very much snow but it was there. =) The only bad thing was that we lost our biggest suitcase on the way there that had ALL of our clothes in it! We still haven't found it. So while there, we bought just a few things, but we also did laundry every night and did some borrowing of clothes. I think I was mostly sad the girls didn't get to wear their christmas dresses on Sunday - and I haven't taken any pics of them in those! Oh well, you never know, it still might turn up somewhere... anyway, there are lots of pix!!!

Jonas and Kyla as shepherds for the nativity!

everyone looking at the star

Jonas and Kyla at the Cardston temple - sorry you can't even see the temple

Maelie was Mary in the Nativity christmas eve - here she is riding her donkey, Uncle Levi - Maelie was so happy to be Mary and hold baby Jesus - such a fun tradition!

Mary and Joseph (her cousin Mason) Maelie had so much fun playing with her cousins all week and her uncles and grandma and grandpa, I'm so glad we were able to make the trip

Jonas and Kyla were shepherds - the 3 wise men are Jonas' siblings Lorinda, Leland, and Levi. The angel is our neice Kylie and the other little shepherd is Jonas' brother Tim's little foster daughter Alyssa.

Jonas and I woke up before the girls for probably the first time ever - we sorta had to wake them up 'cause we were so excited, not for our presnts but for them to open presents! Christmas is so fun to see thru the eyes of a child!

little crazies on christmas morning

Kyla opening her Santa present - Tickle Me Elmo

Maelie opening her Santa present - Candyland Castle game - she looks thrilled, hehe, or is that tired?

Kyla with the ear phones on, some of those guns were REALLY loud!!!

Maelie playing in the wilderness where we were shooting guns

STOCKINGS!!!

In Jonas' fam, after all the present opening you all go find yor Santa present that is hidden somewhere in the living room. We hid Kyla's way too easy, she found it right away!

Kyla playing in the snow

Jonas pulling Maelie and Kyla at Waterton

Jonas and his brothers are into guns and hunting so we went out to shoot some old TV's and radios and stuff. Even Kyla shot the gun!

They had fun making snow angels

Maelie eating the snow

Jonas pulled the girls around on the snow (ice) in the coldesac - they had a lot of fun!

On Thursday we went to Waterton Lakes National Park - here are Jonas and Kyla eating their hotdogs! - the snow suit Kyla is wearing was worn by Jonas as well as his other 7 siblings!

Maelie loving the snow!

We had a 4 hour layover in the Denver airport! The girls actually had a blast running around and riding the people movers - and getting pizza and icecream.

Kyla all ready for take off finally!!! When we got on our plane in Denver to go to Phoenix, we were in the plane for about an hour before it took off because they had to replace some small plastic peice to cover something in the cockpit.... the girls were getting a little impatient by then, luckily they fell asleep on the plane. But then when we had about 1/2

hour left they both woke up incredibly tired and upset, it was a fun landing, let me tell you. And then when we finally did get on the ground we had to wait for another hour before we got our suitcases (all of them!, except the one we lost on the way to Canada of course) we got home at about 1:30 am Sunday morning and that's when the girls got to see the rest of their christmas under the tree at our house. All things considered, we had a blast of a trip!
