fam trip
On Wednesday we headed to a resort in Tucson for 2 nights. We got a deal off priceline and it was a great hotel - lots of fun! There was a large game pool, a kiddie pool that was perfect for our kids, a slide pool that only Jonas went on since the kids were too short and can't swim alone, a jacuzzi with a cold spring type thing right by it (Jonas with his Canadian blood could handle going back and forth, but I am way too much of a whimp!) But anyway, it was a lot of fun!!

Jonas and Jaxon under the mushroom and the girls playing in the water - Jaxon with his bedtime snack :)

our lame attempt of getting a fam pic in our room - Jonas and I excited about the hotel robes, I've never been to a hotel that gives you robes, haha! Our back patio led out to a cool hiking trail that we went on... The girls at the pool - the scenery was pretty cool!
We went to the zoo in Tucson. We really liked this zoo. It's cheap and the animals are all really easy to see and it's the right size for little crazy children - meaning it wasn't too big. :) And the weather was great! The elephants, the rhinos behind Jaxon in the car, and the cute polar bear. We got to see her dive in and play with the ball. Maelie really likes posing for pix! =)

a double headed turtle and the girls with the "baby turtles"
Maelie had fun being our navigator! some strange animal, the sleeping jaguar, and the giraffes
Friday we checked out of our hotel and found a campground near Tucson. The weather was great when we got there and we were able to do a little exploring.

Jonas jumping the creek and all of us in our 3 man tent. Time for an upgrade?
Kyla eating a roasted marshmallow and the girls cooking some hot dogs and s'mores. The camping part of our trip was great.... until we went to bed. Holy smack, it was COLD!!! Amazingly and for the most part, the kids slept great! The girls were out mostly the whole night. Jonas and I were up most of the night. Jaxon had periods of running around and jumping on us and driving his truck on our heads. But he did sleep good under the circumstances. Jonas and I were like, "is it morning yet?"... our phone was dead so Jonas went out to the car to check the time and it was 2:40 am!!! AHHHH!!! Well, we made it to 7 am and then we were outta there - drove home! Overall, it was a great trip and I'm glad we went. Even the camping overnight part has some pretty great memories, mostly us cracking up at Jaxon and our situation. On the way home, I tried to convince Jonas to head to San Diego, but he being the responsible one, headed home. I am not quite ready for reality!!!
little lepruchans
On St. Patty's day we went to Fountain Hills with family to see the green fountain!

the cute kids with the awesome fountain... this yellow plane was always full of kids but our little Kyla stood by it and waited for her chance and then just climbed right in - she was in the middle of all these kids for a while with a big smile on her face :)

Jakob and Jaxon in the car... Jakob, Maelie, Anna and Kyla on the dinosaur!
