spontaneity

We were planning to wait until May for our family trip but then on Friday we just kinda took off. We drove to San Diego Friday night and swam at the hotel. I love seeing the joy on the kids faces. I love seeing them run down the hotel hall and jumping on the hotel bed. Saturday we went to Coronado beach. We love that beach. It was a little cold but still a lot of fun and we spent several hours there and it wiped us all out. We were all kinda grumpy that afternoon. We found our next hotel and ate lunch/dinner at Chili's. We have been staying at a different hotel each night using priceline and getting some good deals on some fun hotels. We have been deciding on what we were doing each night so we haven't been able to get the same hotel for more than one night. We are kinda silly like that. Today we went to sacrament meeting in SD and then went to see the San Diego temple. I LOVE that temple and I love seeing the kids excitement to see the temple. I forgot my camera at the hotel so don't have any pix at the SD temple. We went back to the hotel and had cups of noodles. That hotel had free hot breakfast so that was nice. Then we left that hotel and went to the LA temple. It was pouring!!! Luckily they have the visitor's center there and it is remodeled and really awesome. When we were done the kids ran out in the rain and before we knew it Jaxon was jumping in puddles right and left. Again, I love seeing that joy! Then we drove to the Newport Beach temple, it was locked up and still raining anyway. That is a really cool temple, too. Our hotel is really close to that temple and that is where we are now. Jonas has been entertaining the kids while I have been on the computer. I think it's time to go hang with my family now. I am thinking we are headed to see Mickey Mouse tomorrow since the kids don't have school this week and we are having another baby in the fall and we are already here and well, we want to!!! The rain is supposed to let up tomorrow so we shall see. It's been a fun spontaneous vacation!

Happy St. Patty's Day

On St. Patrick's Day we went to Fountain Hills to see the green fountain. We go every year and the kids love it!! My camera battery died right after I took one pick of the green fountain!

Happy Birthday Jaxon!!!

Jaxon loves to do things his own way starting with switching to breech before he was born so he could be born via c section! He was born at 2:11 pm 3 years ago today! I love this kid more than I could ever explain. He wasn't really planned but oh, we could never imagine our family without him. He is my cuddle bug and my fireball. And he needs a haircut! We had blue birthday pancakes this morning and Jaxon got a bike. So far he doesn't want to get on it. But I know he will when he's ready. I took him to Walgreen's to spend his money from Grandma and Grandpa Stanford while Kyla was in therapy. He was so cute in the store... choosing one thing and then putting it back for something else and then something else several times until he finally settled on a Thomas lego set. He is busy in his room playing with it now. Tonight we are getting Chik-fil-A and heading to a park for dinner. Happy Birthday Jaxon!!!

Jaxon's Birthday Cake

Yesterday we had Jaxon's birthday cake over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I made him a train cake and it was a lot of fun. He was spoiled with lots of fun toys from the family. Thanks so much! Here he is playing with Kaden....
Jaxon and his cake with all the cousins...
so cute! He was covering his eyes while Travis lit the candles.
Jaxon was pretty happy with his cake :)

busy busy

Life is busy but good! Kyla was the start student this week, she has been waiting all year! She showed her poster and got to bring in a toy to show, and be the line leader. We sold our Durango on Tuesday night. And Wednesday we bought a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. We really love it!! I have always been anti minivan. Someday I want to get a crossover. But for now, we are loving the van.
