Whelp, we sent Trevon off on his airplane this morning! He will spend today and tonight with Travis up in Utah and he checks into the MTC tomorrow! Last night we were all over at my parent's and he got set apart as a missionary!

I'm so glad when daddy comes home!

We had a great father's day yesterday! It's good having days so you can sit back and ponder and realize how important certain people are in our lives.

My Dad

Wow! What a pic! There's my dad in his work uniform and he works the same job today. He has always worked so hard to provide for us and more inportantly has always lived the gospel and been an example to us! I love you, Dad.

Maelie's 1st dance recital!

Maelie had her 1st big dance recital last night and she did awesome! I was so proud of her! In December when she did her little in studio christmas show, she just stoood there, so I wasn't sure what she would do tonight. But she did sooo good, you could tell she was enjoying it! All of the girls in her class did so well and there were no criers in her class, there was one in all the other classes, you know, the little girl who stands there and cries, how sad! But, anyway, I cried when she tippy toed out there with her little umbrella in the air! I didn't expect to cry but I was so proud of my baby up there growing up and looking so beautiful and having so much fun! I did video it but the videos are way too large to post, sorry! I wish I could post them because it really was the cutest thing to watch! My sister Taani was their teacher and she is so talented! Thanks Taani for being Maelie's teacher! And it was even more special because her cousin Kailin was in the show and her friend Bianca! (We missed you Anna!) What a fun night!!!

So Long Farewell and some other random things...

Sunday was my little brother Trevon's farewell. It was pretty funny 'cause his computer was out of ink so had had no talk until about 3 minutes before he got up to speak! Right before his talk we sang, I am a Child of God, and I was looking at him and feeling all my family around me and just sitting there in the true church and just feeling overwhelmed with the Spirit. This church is awesome! I love the focus on families and feel so grateful for my family. Trevon did an awesome job on his talk. He is so personal and comfortable, he will be an awesome missionary! Good luck and have fun in JaXonville! :) He enters the MTC on June 18th!

The other day, I thought it would be a good idea to get my exercise in while the girls were watching a movie and Jaxon was sleeping. I usually do it when Jonas is home or when all the kids are sleeping. Well, it turned out to not be such a good idea because Kyla found a sharpie. We also found marks on the ipod, the window sill, and the kitchen cabinets. Thank goodness for soft scrub!

A few weeks ago Jaxon found his hands and is starting to "play with toys"...
he is 3 months old tomorrow and doing awesome! He smiles a LOT and sleeps great - 9-10 hours at night!!! And here are a couple pix of Maelie being goofy!

The Biggest Loser!

The last time I weighed myself (I am trying not to weigh myself as much) I was 48 pounds from my goal weight, that is a LOT! I have actually never been at my goal weight, well, probably like in junior high or something... But I am determined to get there, hopefully by Jaxon's 1st birthday, that is my goal! Weight loss is really hard! I am inspired by people who lose weight because it is definitely not easy to give up all thay yummy food and make yourself get out there and get active daily. But I am trying really hard because the best I have felt was when I was about 13 pounds from my goal weight, it felt amazing! I am so excited to see how I feel at my goal weight. My awesome sister in law and I have the same goal weight (she is really close to her goal weight) but we are hoping to go on a little trip when we both reach our goal weight and I am so excited! It's been nice to have someone to talk to with the same goals as me. Thanks Kristin! Here's to a life change and to a new me! Active and healthy!!! =)

Maelie likes playing on the computer (nickjr, starfall, Disney, and PBS) and this video shows her favorite right now. The other morning like at 6 am, I heard her yelling this out in her room.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONAS!!!

Jonas is 27 today! Happy Birthday sweetie, we all love you lots! I made his fave lasagna for dinner tonight and it was YUMMY! It's his mom's recipe and this is my first time making it because it takes a while! And Jaxon chose today to be high maintenance so it took me most of the afternoon to make, it was so worth it tho. Here's the recipe


LASAGNE

Prep: 1 1/2 hrs
Bake 375*: 45 mins
Cool: 10 mins

MEAT SAUCE:
cook and drain…
1 lb ground beef
sauté……………….
1 med onion, finely chopped
½ green pepper, chopped
10 oz can sliced mushrooms (or 1 lb fresh)
1 clove garlic, minced
2 T olive oil
Add………………
16 oz can tomatoes
8 oz can tomato sauce (or 1 1/3 C ketchup)
2 t salt
1 t oregano
1/8 t pepper

Simmer covered 15 mins and uncovered 30 mins

CHEESE:
Mix………………
1 egg
2 T parsely flakes
1 C cottage cheese
1 T olive oil
1/3 C parmesan cheese, grated
½ t salt
10 ½ oz frozen spinach, thawed, chopped, & drained (opt)
or use spinach lasagna noodles
Shred………..
12 oz mozzarella cheese

NOODLES:
Cook…. 9 lasagne noodles
Toss with… 1 egg, slightly beaten

In 9*13 pan layer 1/3 noodles, 1/3 meat sauce, 1/3 cottage cheese, 1/3 mozzarella cheese
Repeat X 2

Bake for 30 mins, add remaining mozzarella cheese and bake additional 10 mins
Cool 10 mins before cutting

Jonas loves ice cream cake, not real cake, me too actually. :) So we had a Carvel cake.. There are some interesting things to notice in these pix...

Jaxon's slobber is all over Jonas' shoulder (he has always been so amazing at helping with the kids. I always say I would make a horrible single mom because I really rely on Jonas' help. He is incredible!)

Maelie and Jonas are looking at each other like they adore one another (and they do! Jonas is so good at playing with the girls when he gets home from work. They love love LOVE him!)

Yes, it does look like it is Maelie's birthday but it isn't. (The candle is a 3) She loves birthdays! She has been talking about her birthday since last birthday.. and it is finally almost here, 1 1/2 more months Maelie! :)
